What is Wire-Rapt Jewelry?
All Wire-Rapt jewelry is wire sculpted pieces created by Snippits Creativity Shop.
Wire-Rapt jewelry is made from 14/20 Rolled Gold or .925 Sterling Silver wire and Genuine stones, shell, and pearls. The one exception to this are some of the cameo pieces which can be made of molded resin. If you wish a shell cameo substituted, e-mail me and I can quote you a price for the substitution.
Rolled Gold is made from 14k gold that is bonded to other alloys. Rolled gold wears like solid gold because its outer surface is solid gold. Electroplating is NOT a part of this process.
Rolled gold offers all the same physical characteristics as solid gold such as beauty, durability, and strength, but at a fraction of the cost.
Since the gold is on the outer surface area, it is nearly impossible to tell the difference between solid gold and rolled gold.
Rolled gold is made by fusing a layer of Karat Gold to a suitable supporting metal (or alloy) using equipment that carefully controls pressure, heat, and time. The bond produced is a permanent one.
Gold, along with its other unique qualities, is virtually indestructible. Since you are guaranteed a substantial layer of gold on your rolled gold jewelry by law, with reasonable care it will last a lifetime. It is not costume jewelry. The layer of gold in rolled gold is substantially thicker than the traditional electroplated jewelry. Rolled gold jewelry is fine jewelry that never goes out of style
Yes.
Each piece is sold with a three Month warranty against defects In Craftsmanship. I will be glad to either repair the piece, refund your money, or supply you with a replacement piece of equal value.
Will you create custom pieces?
Yes.
If you desire, I am delighted to create custom pieces to your specifications.
However, because of the nature of the materials, it is almost impossible to exactly duplicate an existing piece. It is possible for me to create a very close replica using materials and stones that you want. Just give me a call and we can discuss your needs.
I do not charge an extra fee for creating a custom piece.
I am also willing to take the "Chinese menu" approach. (One from column A and one from column B - combinations.) If you see a wrap you like and want the piece in a different size, or with a different stone, e-mail me and I can quote you a price. No problem.
If you currently own a stone you need wrapped, I do that too.
Most important rule... Never wear pearls, shell jewelry, or opals on your hands while working with oil (yes, tossing a salad counts) or doing the dishes. They will absorb the oil and gunk.
Frequent cleaning is recommended to maintain its true beauty. All metal will tarnish somewhat - even 24 karat gold.
Salt water, chlorine in swimming pools, soap and perspiration take their toll on all fine jewelry. Wipe your jewelry carefully with a soft cloth to keep it clean and free of these elements which can oxidize the surface.
The best way to clean in places that a polishing cloth will not reach is very simple.
This also works well on Sterling Silver and is safe for all stones.
If you have a buildup of dirt in hard to reach places, just put a little dish washing liquid in a bowl of water and soak your piece overnight. Rinse the piece and let it air dry after removing it from the solution.
Be careful when using sonic cleaners. All pearls, shells (e.g.: Paua) and some stones (such as malachite) are prone to lose their lustre when put into these cleaners.
If you need to clean a cameo, an excellent way to clean it is put a little toothpaste on a SOFT toothbrush and brush the stone gently. Rinse and let air dry.
